We had full coverage on our rental. Two months later the card on file was charged a $250 dollar cleaning fee without notice for DIRT !!! There was small traces of dirt in the vehicle mostly on the floor mat - but again we had FULL COVERAGE. There was absolutely no communication from AVIS on this for two months nor at the time of charge. We have rented from other companies and have never had an issue. Very unprofessional for them to take advantage of clients like this. Living in Redding we do not have many options for rental but we will NEVER rent from Avis again.

Charged me a $250 cleaning fee, 2 months after my rental.. thought it was a fraudulent charge.. Called them, and they said it was a "cleaning fee".. They supposedly sent me a letter about the charge 7 days before they charged my card. Never received anything from them. Asked them to email me what they supposedly sent me.. They send me a PDF attachment with 4 pictures of the "Mess".. Nothing major that I noticed.. Just some dirt on the carpet, dust on the chair and some dust on the handle.. OH and dust on the engine.. that supposedly warranted a $250 charge. Will never go back to them. Enterprise is so much better, but we really had no choice that day since enterprise had no rentals left. Seems like a scam to keep your deposit and charge you more.

Rented a Ford Fusion, but when we went to pick up car we were given a Chevrolet Malibu. No Ford Fusion available and sonce we rented a Fusion on purpose due to thinking about purchasing one this was a huge disappointment. We also had rewards coupons for Avis and they would not honor them even spoke to supervisor. Advised to email or mail after and they would apply and they still denied coupons. So no price adjustment for car change or accepted coupons. I will never use Avis again for a car rental!!!
