The Americana Lodge is a complete 100% cesspool,the owners Bob & Sudha Thakor are horrible owner(s) that never take care of the motel and they need to have their business licenses suspended indefinitely and they should be deported back to their home country of India. While growing up in the San Francisco area,i have seen a lot of motels and lodges be cited and closed down for their unsafe and inhabitable conditions a lot of which were infested wit rodents,cockroaches,bed bugs & had mold problems,i don't know what is wrong with The City of Redding and why they have let the Americana Lodge get away and put up with so much of the motels bullshit and lack of care and interest to the downtown motel. If this motel was in the Bay Area they would have closed it down indefinitely without hesitation. The City of Redding has given this motel so many chances to clean up their acts and now finally they are taking all necessary actions against this dilapidated motel. This motel is so bad i wouldn't even rate it 1 star cause it's not worthy of any stars,a rating of 0 should be "HORRIBLE" and that's what i give them. The Americana houses known high risk pedophiles and felons and the police is always called there about every single day. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS MOTEL,STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!!

Don't stay here. I made the mistake of not reading reviews on this place, and stayed for a night. All my stuff got infested with lice, and even after shaving my hair off to get rid of them, I found I had come out of there with scabies as well. Even after checking out, my next few days were miserable and filled with parasites. I thought a dirty room for one night wouldn't be that bad, but I was wrong. Please do not stay here for your own good.

The people there are very nice! Though in contrast, the people staying around there are druggies. The room was clean and neat! It's not the best place in the world, but it's a nice stay for a night!
