Overall experience was good. Came with a group of 8 for a monthly Dinner Club outing. Started with the Pomegranate Martini, how could you not with the name of the restaurant being Pomegranate! Had the Deviled Eggs and Escargot Appetizers which were both excellent. The only reason I can't give a 5 star rating is because the Ribeye I ordered didn't come out until everyone else in our group had almost finished. I was told it was delayed because it was over cooked the first time (I ordered medium rate). When it did come out it was very chewy and still overdone. Definitely a disappointment but I will most likely be back for another try.

I love this place. The donut burger is awesome a bit of my home town food. Fried frog legs are the best. I had a great dinner the other night and was impressed with the chef's creations. Plus now they have micro beer on tap.

I don't know how the last two reviewers could have eaten there two or three weeks ago since the restaurant was closed for renovations during that time.
I just went there less than a week ago and the food was excellent as always. The escargot was the best I have ever had and the service was excellent. We also had the pasta with liver and it was out of this world, and I don't usually even eat liver! There are excellent wine and drink choices as well, and the atmosphere is very elegant yet comfortable.
This restaurant and the chef's creations are well worth experiencing and revisiting regularly. Everything is always fresh and the combinations interesting. This is a Carytown gem.

What a disappointment! After several recommendations, I decided to try this place, and I wish I had not.
From the beginning, it was not an enjoyable experience. I was greeted with a terse "How can I help you," as though the place was packed despite there being almost no one in the restaurant at all. I requested a table outside and was taken to a wobbly, teetering table that I thought might collapse at any time. My server brought some water over, which was tap, fancied up in a capped glass bottle and delivered tattered and stained menus. The menu was too small, and was full of amateur and pretentious pairings. I knew I didn't want much from this place, so I ordered a simple mixed green salad. When it arrived, the mixed greens were entirely spinach and the salad was overdressed by at least 200%. What the menu advertised as homemade goat cheese with honey was saturated with rancid truffle oil, and whole plate stunk of it. I scraped the goat cheese off and ate the spinach, now wilted from too much dressing.
I would never return or recommend this restaurant to anyone. It pretends to be a gastropub, but the chef is clearly over his or her head. Save yourself the agony and go to any of the dozens of worthwhile places in Carytown.

Great experience at Pomegranate. Incredible strawberry basil soup, house made ricotta and amazing desserts. The chocolate soup is amazing! Service was good as well. Warm bread and butter sea salt is outstanding. One of the best meals I've had in Richmond.
