I had surgery and was hospitalized here. They tried to take care of me but there is room for improvement. No one offered a shower or any help grooming until after I had showered with the help of family on the third day and was getting ready to leave. Another family member was very ill and came here by ambulance. After 6 days, he was well enough to come home so I commend them for that. Try to have a companion help you when you're admitted to any hospital.

I have a very good doctor in Seth Cheatham. The problem is that it is nearly impossible to make an appointment to see him. Literally, I have tried three separate times to make an appointment and I get the recording which says "Thank you for holding, we are experiencing longer than normal hold times, please stay on the line and your call will be handled by the first available agent" (I have it memorized) but the problem is it takes over 20 minutes to get someone to pick up. today I was on hold from 1:47 and it is now 2:07. I that normal? What are reasonable expectations for your patients? Perhaps if you let us know this up front we would go somewhere else.

Medicine is based off triage. The most critical patients will be seen first. You can expect the best care in all of Richmond at this facility but unless you are dying there will likely be a long wait.

I've been going to The Massey Cancer Center @MCV for over 2 years now for both the cancer and pain management. I've found everyone there a joy. They always remember you and go out of there way to help you and make you comfortable. They not only take care of me but they have been amazing with my husband. Every time I was inpatient they made sure to make him comfortable since he stayed with me every night. They deserve nothing but respect and admiration for the care they offer to patients and families.
