Great live band and solid bar atmosphere. Not much of a dance floor but a great place to grab a drink and have fun.

Nice respectable bar, cute bar tenders that are personable and Chris the door man is very entertaining but needs to learn to read better

A fantastic oasis on Riverside's University Ave.! Perhaps that's not what you'd expect to be lauded in a pub, but it's precisely what I was looking for that weekday at 3:00 p.m., and Lake Alice delivered handsomely.

This "Eatery" is a collection of multiple pursuits: a pub, a restaurant, a sports bar, a small live-music venue with dance floor, and an arcade. Besides seeking an oasis that afternoon, I arrived looking for possible pick-up games of bar shuffleboard, and/or pool (there are two tables). Although I wasn't successful that Monday, I was told this probably wouldn't be the case on other days (for example, Taco Tuesdays). Lake Alice even offers pinball tournaments & an in-house league.

There are multiple beers on tap, and their 3 to 6 p.m. Happy Hour offers $3 domestic beers & well drinks. The food menu is reasonably diverse; I opted for fried avocado tacos with pico de gallo, beans & rice, which filled me up nicely for $8. Additional seating is available on an upstairs balcony, as well as outside tables where smoking is permitted. Note that minors are allowed in the restaurant area until 7:30 p.m.

I'll definitely be back soon -- highly recommended.
