Flight got delayed and we arrived at counter 30 minutes after “closing time” - all other rental agencies (expect Budget which is operated by Avis) were here waiting for their customers. Out desk was the only one which was closed. The very nice Hertz worker next to Avis let us know they closed 5 minutes before we arrived. They left 3 different parties stranded knowing they would arrive. 1) When I called Avis before the flight departed the customer service group was negative help and told me there was no was way to contact the ROC airport to let them know of the situation. What HQ cannot contact a branch. 2) I was also specifically told that missing the reservation due to the “inability to cancel the car” would not charge us at all. Surprise - charged us full price including the day we paid with using points which they unapplied. 3) As an Avis preferred member keys are also supposed to be left in the vehicle so going to the desk is not necessary, well the car was unlocked but no keys were in there. The very nice Hertz guy again let us know that the Avis agent locks up all keys at night, so what is the point of this program if i cant get the car I rented.
Avis and Budget (and any other affiliate) will never get my business again. If they want wait 5 minutes more to help a customer then we will not support them.

Super nice and fast service. No pushing extra services and good range of cars to choose from. Yes they said we could just choose which car we wanted from our section. As a car lover i was very impressed by that. In the end we choose a chrysler 300 which was a great choice for a long roadtrip. Also return was super smooth and fast. European rental companies have a LOT to learn from Bewerten.

Good, professional, friendly service! Car was clean and full of gas. The checkout experience was great. If you're not a Preferred member, I recommend you join (no cost!) to help you get your car easier.

Everything was great with the car. Had difficulty finding the rental car return facility at Rochester Airport. Overgrown trees blocking many signs.
