On May 31st, my nearly 16 year old tabby Lucille started vomiting and acting lethargic. She's normally a healthy cat, and I don't take her to the vet often because getting her into a cat carrier is usually a nightmare. Kitty does NOT like car rides in enclosed spaces! She had been barely eating for almost a week, refusing the kitty crack that is Fancy feast, and then suddenly she barfed up what little she did eat and then promptly pooped on my rug- something she has NEVER done. My cat has saved my life countless times over the years during terrible bouts of depression, and she's my 'only child ' so I was terrified and sat up with her all night. I called River City the next morning freaking out, and the receptionist Olivia squeezed Lucy in with Dr. Kennedy same day. I moved to Sac from L.A. 4 years ago, have had cats my whole life, and THIS IS THE NICEST KINDEST VETERINARIAN and staff I've ever taken any of my pets to over the years - the vet tech Jessica was very gentle with Lucy, the Dr. was empathetic about my not having a ton of money and offered options to help bring costs down, and she told me Lu was dehydrated, had a heart murmur, and possible kidney issues making her not want to eat. Dr. Kennedy gave her an Rx and a shot of some miracle anti nausea medicine that by the time i got her home, allowed Lucy to voluntarily eat half a can of tuna and successfully poop in the litterbox again. Yes, it's that big of a deal! I won't take her anywhere else - when the bill came it was expectedly high, and the staff let me know there might be lower cost clinics i could look for, but my high drama cat was calm with three staff members, and i could tell she was in good hands. They are awesome and here's hoping whatever comes back with Lucille's blood work and urinalysis they will be there to help treat. I'm glad i chose them.

Dr Wendy Salaguinto is wonderful with my 18 year old kitteh. She takes lots of time to explain whats going on and what the options are. Very detailed voice mails with lots of compassion.

Awesome staff, Dr. Kennedy is absolutely the best. Her love and dedication to her patients is beyond any veterinarian I've ever seen. Prices are very reasonable.
