I called at 10:30 on a Sunday morning looking for help. I took my dog 15 year old rat terrier mix in. I thought ear infection should have been the diagnosis but I was wrong. Good thing I didn't self medicate her. Fair prices excellent service, Gentle exam and very thorough She's good to go a few more years. I am happy to have my best friend back. The only down side was the receptionist. She was a little squeamish about fleas. They are not pleasant but they are part of a veterinarians office. One of many common pet problems. It's not like it jumped on her and fed. It was a bit daunting having to catch and kill the bug then watch her push away from me disgusted. She won't last long in that profession if little stuff like that bother her. The one good thing is the medical assistants and doctor way outshines her

In my opinion, Animal Health Center is the best vet hospital in the Monterey/ Salinas area. The staff there is extremely friendly and welcoming. They also have an entire team of veterinarians with various specialties and expertise, whom are very knowledgeable and their number one priority is to get your pet well. What I like most about Animal Health Center is they are one of the few vets within 100 miles to offer both conventional and natural treatments. I have been taking my 11 year-old handicapped pug, Piglette there for nearly 2 years now. All of the treatments (laser therapy and water therapy) and remedies Piglette received has had very positive results in improving her quality of life. The other thing I like about Animal Health Center is they offer high quality pet food brands that you either cannot find or are hard to find at pet/ grocery stores. Recently they just opened a new location in Seaside which I would say is worth checking out too. I have been to a handful of other vets in the area and none of the others offered the variety of treatments or level care for my pug as Animal Health Center.
