A piece of history preserved as true as it was. Imagine life there...European size apartment doors, try to go through 😀 and get a feel of it all.

Mission San Jose was awesome and the visitor center explaining the context behind the mission compounds was also a real treat.
My curiosity was piqued when visiting the compound, and I might have liked a bit more in the way of displays in the visitor center. Still, we could have stayed longer to go on a ranger-guided tour, which always seem to fill in the gaps, and of course answer any questions. This is a great place and a must stop while in San Antonio.
Unfortunately, the open road (and schedule) was calling us to continue on to Big Bend National Park later in the day. Still, part of a morning spent here was a blast.

Really nice mission. Not crowded like the Alamo. Great for taking pictures.

National Park Service guides are a national treasure. No matter where I travel, they are always kind and extremely well informed. The Mission is at the top of my list when visitors pass through town. An excellent place.
