Buffet breakfast was delicious. Had the ham and cheese omlette. Not a huge variety but what they had was good. Service was execellent.

Breakfast buffett at Sheerwater is great. Lots of variety and if you are hungry worth the money. However the customer service from the hosts are horrible. We have been coming to the Del for 10 years and have never been treated poorly by the wait staff. We arrived on Sunday, after leaving our hotel in San Diego super early to have breakfast at the Del before checking in for a week. We arrived at breakfast at 10:15am and were told by Kellan the host that they were not seating any more tables and we could come back for lunch at 11:30. The place as half full and there was no line waiting. The restaurant states they serve breakfast till 11am. It was more the attitude the host vs. what he said, especially when you are a guest of the hotel paying $500 plus a night you think you would be treated as such.

Had the breakfast buffet and found that it's perfect for both the health conscious and those who would like to indulge. While the selection is not huge, it works for a buffet. The price is pretty high and they don't have children's prices, but I suppose that's how they keep it from being so crowded for a restaurant with a beautiful ocean view.

Okay so I always read reviews and listen to the writers, but we were staying at the Cabanas at the Hotel Coronado, and I couldn't get over the view and the pics of the food. Long story short, I went against my own rules and decided to try it. We got a breakfast plate to take up to our room and we had lunch there.
I am so glad we did! The food was excellent, the waiter was very accommodating, and the view was spectacular! The pics I saw did not make it clear that Sheerwater has excellent views. I read all the bad posts, and I believe not everyone could be wrong, BUT maybe they have changed??? Don't know, but we really enjoyed it all, and I have pretty high expectations!! One thing is that my kids said there was too much cheese on the pizza?!? 🤷🏻♀️ Wish I knew how to add pics to this.

Arrive on a Sunday for brunch table for 6 at 10:15. We could see tables all over empty but they told us that there is no more breakfast service and we needed to wait until lunch at 11:45 AM. So, we waited.
We waited and were treated like is the place was full. There were maybe 7 tables total during lunch (no wonder why). After $290.00 bill of cold french fries with $25 burgers I discovered why restaurant was empty.
The only think worth of this place is the ocean view witch is free!
