I love this base, very small and relaxing, seen army and navy bases around the country but come here just to watch the ocean. Kids enjoy searching for sand dollars. Stores have the basics (hard liquor), nearby Subway and chow hall, endless views of boats coming and going.

The kayaks for rent are not well maintained. The pricing is higher than what mwrs at other bases would charge and is sometimes more than what other kayak rental places in the area would charge. It is a nice area to kayak, though, as long as the sea isn't too rough that day.
