A great place to see, it's in the center of the Balboa Park. Amazing flowers and plants inside, in front of the building there is a nice pond, with some nice fish. It's free, one more reason to worth the visit, we really enjoyed. Very well done San Diego!

Cool little semi hidden area of Balboa Park. You can walk down winding walkways lined with butterfly attracting plants. There is a spot for performances at the bottom. Once down there, there are large ficus trees with huge roots to sit on. If you go past the bridge, there is a path to the end of the Japanese Garden, but you can't enter.

An interesting gem within Balboa Park. We saw the butterfly festival in May. It used to be the site of the nudist colony for the Pan American Exhibition in the early 20th century. Everyone is fully clothed now and there is a beautiful garden and pathways to enjoy.
