I went to this place because it got a 4.6 out of 5 in reviews. After eating here, I am shocked it received such reviews. I felt like my dinner was sitting under the heat lamp for a long period of time before it came to me. Everything was dried/congealed together. I got a fish, potatoes, and sautéed spinach. I never review restaurants and the only reason I am reviewing this one is because I believe the reviews are misleading. My fiancé ordered the clam chowder and a seafood pasta dish. He ALWAYS finishes his meal and this time he didn’t. His chowder was watery and the pasta was bland. It was also a Wednesday night and it was not very crowded.

Not a quick in and out, but that's just perfect when you're sitting on Coronado.
The harpooned swordfish was fantastic. Try the Crab and Artichoke dip for an appetizer, and dip the fresh bread in it.

I need to say special thank you to the staff at Blue water Boathouse. We last visited a couple years ago and enjoyed our relaxed leasuerly dinner. We wanted to dine again before our flight back home. Unfortunately our day on Coronado had gotten away from us and I did not realize the time issues until we were committed. On seating we explained our short time allotment to our waiter. He patiently waited while I reviewed the menu, he took our order returned with our drinks. Long story... we were expedited though-out the dinner and caught our flight. I do not recommend doing this as a leasuerly dinner is one reason to dine at the boathouse but this exemplifies that service is another.

Okay food that's decently priced, fantastic location and restaurant facility but unfortunately the service was snail slow from start to finish. Took 50 mins for us to get our first and only serving of they're "unlimited bread" which we instantly devoted from being so hungry since they still hadn't even taken our order... we weren't offered anymore and wasn't served on again until 20 after 9pm ( 9 pm being when they close) extremely disappointed service overall def a place I would highly recommend avoiding.

Incredible seafood. If you're in San Diego, do yourself a favor and make reservations at one of the best, most scenic restaurants in San Diego. Located in Coronado, my favorite city in San Diego, the atmosphere is laid back but professional. No need to dress up for this casual eatery. Staff wear white button ups and jeans. Most of the menu is caught fresh daily. Lobster comes from Maine and Alaska. Dessert is phenomenal (I suggest the key lime pie). Parking is generally good, which isn't the case for most Coronado restaurants.
