I fell deeply in love with this place. Enjoyed the atmosphere, and the service was on point. The carnitas tacos and guacamole blew my mind. Too freaking good. Their "Wheel in the Sky" margarita was killer, too! Much love!

Great Happy Hour and it happened to be all day on the day we visited. We stopped because so many people was there and we were right it was a casual atmosphere and enjoyable. HH was 50% off on all alcohol and appetizers worked for me! Nice staff too!

The food tastes good but took awhile to arrive. I like this place.
I was in San Diego for an interview. I went to La Puerta on a Wednesday for lunch around 12pm. The place was full so I sat at the bar. Most of the people seemed to be 35+ years of age. I ate the Burrito Pastor and drank lemonade. Tasted good but had a lot of oil dropping out of the bottom. I would order the same thing again. The place offers booth seats for groups of 4-6 people. Good place to chill out with a small group of friends.

Best in the area for bar and food. Totally recommend if u like Mexican. Drinks are amazing. Tacos are a must in this place. Tip: always ask the waiter for the nights special as they have things on special everyday. Ooh margarita at that place are perfect

Popped in for a late night food based on its Trip Advisor rating. Was not disappointed. Very good tacos and some great special deals. But the big surprise and best part was the very impressive tequila list. They have a huge range of options each with tasting notes. The bar staff can tell you even more about the particular distilleries and options. We tried a few. They're not cheap ($10 a time) but totally worth it.
The atmosphere is fantastic, very relaxed and friendly. Curiously they were playing 80s rock and metal when I was there. Perhaps it was this that put everyone was in good mood.
