New owners. They only offered us steamed buns while every other table had a bowl of pho. This place is dead to me now.

Good spot. Close to my work. I love pho and this spot definitely is a whole lot better than it was before. Been redone inside and pho tastes a lot better than it did. Got full combo and spring roll. Everything good!

I come here each week for pho. Quick and friendly service and the pho is well made.

You’ve been doing it wrong your whole life. Tacos are great when your drunk and trying to stumble home, heck I love tacos, they have saved my life on a few occasions. Same with a hamburger, but what do you do when it’s 6-7am and your head is pounding from going out the night before and all you want is that carby, greasy junk you’ve grown up using to crutch you through these mornings. Burritos are for basic bitches people. I know and you know a bowl of pho will do more for your hangover than all those Fierce Gatorade’s your pounding and you’ll still have to take an aspirin for the headache, but breakfast pho has helped me go on 2 week benders.

Van Ho Viet is the earliest opening pho in ALL of San Diego, and only by 1 hour compared to some juggernauts in the game like Pho Cao Dao, Pho Hoa. And sometimes that 6am start makes all the difference. I’ve been coming to pho for my breakfast hangover pho for years (but usually most places at like 10-11). The friendly staff will not judge you for looking all shabby. The prices are good because if you’ve lost your wallet you can buy a bowl with the $10 you have stashed in your sock (you know you do that stuff too all my party peeps).

Décor is basic, but when you’ve only got 1 eye open, who cares. Actually it’s a bit stark for a Vietnamese restaurant, always too bright, sit by that fish tank, it’s relaxing. Get the viet coffee to go, it’s part 2 of the hangover cure.

The broth is saltier than most, which maybe you don’t care so much for, but at 6am, lay it on me. Extra tripe, ditch the flank and maybe don’t even waste your time with rare beef. The noodles are fresh, not overly done. They sometimes skimp on the basil and limes could be fresher.

Fear not fellow yelpers, party all you want now.
