Seats uncomfortable, place is very old/dingy, but it is intimate and conveniently located in the middle of chinatown. walking distance to fidi and north beach

Historic theater on the Edge of Chinatown was originally opera house in the 1920s and then a movie theater for the Chinese neighborhood for a number of years. It's recently been renovated as a theatre. I saw a performance of "Hair" here celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Summer of Love. What a wonderful venue for this performance. I highly recommend coming here to experience either film, musicals, or drama.

What a fun place to discover in the middle of Chinatown.
The performance of Hair was amazing the performers gave it their very best, they were REAL unlike the traveling troupe that play the Orpheum or other off Broadway show.

Went for misfit cabaret and loved the venue! Great little spot, really cute and fun. Good crowd and fun to go out in the hood afterward.
