My son went to dr l and a couple months later we received a letter from insurance that they needed proof of bitewings etc for the claim the dr sent in for 2,334.00 ...problem.... he never did the work that he sent claim in. Subsequently I find out he claimed my sons cleaning visit 3 times with different claim numbers. On Feb 4,2017 he was paid out of pocket 390.00
he turned in a claim after receiving monies and received 317 from humana for the same visit, kept sending different claims for 390. Insurance saw it as a duplicate but I pointed out to them today that they had different claim numbers. Dr Chua spoke with both myself and my son and swore that they refunded my son on his credit card. problem is why no monies have come on card.... He was very upset that my son gave him a bad yelp review and stated to me if he removes the review and gives a good one he will give the whole 390.00 back & do free dental work what a deal is that he stated to me. I am beside myself as there is more believe me. My insurance company and the Dental board are working to get paperwork together and have advised me to make a police report for fraud against my son, I think a lawsuit is more like it as it has been several months and no refund but it isn't just the 390. Dr. Chua tried to make 2334. and approx 12-1500 more from duplicate claims and states it was preauthorization. Humana definitely isn't lying when they say it is a CLAIM... If it's a pre auth Dr. why on June 7th did you send a fax asking my insurance company to cancel that... Wow... I will pursue this until the end and I am satisfied this Dr has not scammed others via insurance and like us( unknowingly) submitting claims for work never done and on dates we weren't there. All can be proven and I am collecting what I need to get this out in the open. By the reviews on ZOCDOC it seems others were scammed as well. Disgusting situation and all we wanted was our money back for double charging us and Dr Chua chose this road for himself by greed, and wanting a yelp review removed. it has all been coming to light over the last three months by the paper trail and that doesn't lie either.I am sure he has regular patients that love him, we may have as well, but not when you can't solve a problem but am assuming it couldn't be solved because we found out too much about false claims...aka... fraud. It will be resolved through the law. Insurance is getting involved now they said today because he accepted double pmt for same visit and that is illegal. along with other claim for work not performed. Dr. Chua is a very talented dentist and a gentleman. My wife and I have been very pleased with his service. I have gone through quite a number of procedures with Dr. Chua, and my mouth is better now than it has been in decades. I would encourage you to visit him, even if you are scared of the dentist. He has a very soothing manner and will talk you through everything so there are no surprises or issues.

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Derrick for a cleaning and orthodontics talk. Dr. Derrick was amazingly friendly, approachable, and professional. As someone who has a small fear of going to the dentist, he made me feel completely at ease, even enjoying myself with good conversation. He uses the latest tools for his exams, which made the exam so much easier on me and way more comfortable. Really glad I found his practice! Highly recommend him!
