American Bison are almost extinct, after the days when the mighty plains thundered with the sounds of hooves of hundreds of thousands of their ancestors. The Native American people lived in harmony with the Earth and with the sacred Buffalo. We have only a small herd of the descendants of these great American plains animals after they were hunted to the brink of Extinction by the European immigrant settlers -- who believed that "God" had annointed the White Man to dominate and decimate all the other creatures of the Earth. Be thankful that this tiny heard is there for you to see. And to imagine what once was.

Bison are animals, and on some days they won't be out! But you can glimpse them in their paddocks. On the nice days when they're grazing though, they are a sight to see.

Comically dissapointed with this. Maybe it was the time or year, but there wasn't much to see, a few sad looking bison in a smallish enclosure.

A beautiful and very peaceful spot to observe these majestic creatures. They have quite a few bison of various ages and a number of helpful information panels. You can park on the side of the road just outside the enclosure.
