Three different oysters from three different locations in the US (Cape Cod, Mass and California) were awesome! They have all distinctive characters that I really liked. It is so rich and tasty! Try the full Anchor set w 12 fresh oysters and six chilled shrimps!!

Local gem. Best ciopinno in the city. You have to ask for it. It's not on the menu. Fresh catch specials are great, too. Expect to wait an hour or so for a table, or go close to last seating.

Oh my how delicious Anchor Oyster bar was. We arrived at the right time because we got seated right away. The beer was cold, and the selection of oysters we ordered was incredible. So fresh and so so so delicious. The service was standard, and the price was reasonable given how wonderful the oysters were. An institution for many reasons. Bliss!

Food is great there if you like seafood as they don't have much else. Not a lot of choices but they are all pretty good. The service is good. Reasonable prices given the fresh seafood. Large portions. The biggest downside is there is usually a long wait for a table during dinner times weekday or weekend.

By far my favorite restaurant in SF. I have been a steady patron since 1988. All the food is fresh and to order. The staff is friendly, excellent and most are long time employees.
If you are looking for the SF people use to know this is it. If you are looking for the new and horrible thing SF has turned into, sorry it is not here. This is a simple great small place if friendly people and great food.
It is best to eat here early or at odd hours. In the PM you got to wait. Find a less busy time to make the experience best
Oh yeah when finished eating don't linger... people are hungry and waiting for your seat.
