My family has been coming here longer than I've been alive. It's quirky style makes it a fun visit, but it's the stellar food that keeps us coming back again and again. I'm sure there are other good restaurants in West Portal, but I wouldn't know, because if we're in the area we eat here.

Great food and service. The restaurant has a really cool vibe to it with lots of neat decorations all over the walls. An extensive beer list is also a big plus. Tends to get a bit busy, but they partner with the pub next door so that if there’s a long wait, you can grab drinks at the pub and then El Toreador staff will get you when your table is ready.

Great food and service. Big portions! And the interior decorations are fun to look at while waiting for your food or drink.

Vegans steer clear! I typed in google, vegan restaurants near me and El Toreador popped up. My girlfriend and I were excited to try a new vegan restaurant while visiting San Francisco. When we sat down to look at the menu, they had only one vegan option which was a burrito which came with beans rice and mixed veggies, which was fine with us. It took almost 25 minutes to be served, the burrito was bland and had no seasonings whatsoever. When we wanted to get our check and leave, the staff was more concerned with being on their phones and watching tv.

Local Mexican place with unique interior decorations. The food overall is not disappointing, but not exactly memorable either. If you're in the area and want something quick and Hispanic in nature, this place will satisfy the craving.
