I'm from Austin and have a nostalgic weak spot for Schlotzsky's. When I pulled up, there were no cars outside - perhaps a bad sign around lunch. The open sign wasn't on and I couldn't see any staff. But they were open. Staff was friendly. Went to find a table and several were still dirty from previous customers. In the bathroom to wash my hands, noticed the bathroom was also unclean. There was a small cockroach on the towel dispenser waving a warning to me with his frisky antennae: Turn back! Save yourself! Glanced into the kitchen while walking back. The employee making my sandwich wasn't wearing gloves. Thought about asking for my money back. Then the sandwich arrived: huge, piled high with meats and fixins. Again, noted no gloves on the server. But she was very nice. And my hunger whispered rationalizations: even if the bread and meats had been walked and defecated upon by cockroaches, their tiny insect feet probably weren't as dirty as the humans. So, yes, in spite of all my better angels, I ate it. I really wanted a Schlotzsky's. And yes, I am now, an hour later, wondering what insect alchemy is slouching through my guts to be born. But look at the photo: it looked good even if it tasted like sorrow.

The management is not the greatest. Sometimes it's better to not have a drive thru option if employees aren't gonna wear the headsets to operate them. Walk in and carry out, don't wait in line for 10 minutes to get help.

Disappointing at best... the food is always great but the restaurant is filthy. Dust all over the lights and wall art. All the booths had food/ crumbs. No toilet seat along with no paper towels in the men's bathroom... the absolute worst condition I have ever seen a schlotzskys. Only a two because there food. Would have given a one
