The FountainGrove Inn & Steakhouse has been a favorite 'wine Country' stop of ours for years. Having stayed there over a dozen times I can attest to the quality of their lodging and service; both at the hotel and the restaurant/bar. It is (was) an icon in the Russian River area.
Sadly, a week after our last stay it burned to the ground, along with the Hilton on the hill above it, in a wildfire that destroyed almost 3,000 homes and businesses in the northern Santa Rosa area. The impact to the community and their livelihood saddens our hearts. It will take many years, if ever, to recover.

This was a clean very nice hotel. Very cozy room with a nice living area in it as well.
Edit: Very sad to hear about this lovely place being one of the many buildings burned in the wildfire. I really hope you guys rebuild as this was a place I have definitely planned to return to.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I stayed in the north building, away from the main lobby, so not sure what that side might be like. Room was comfortable but dated. The thermostat looked like it might be vintage 1970's. Ac had a hard time keeping the room cool and it wasn't a very hot day. The view from the window into the garden was very nice, and the blackout drapes worked perfectly. Had a great time at the bar, friendly and fun. I'd recommend staying here, unless it's the middle of summer, then... maybe not.

Stayed here first on business via a suggestion from a local customer. I was expecting good service, I wasn't expecting some of the best service on the planet. The whole staff is great, but the concierge, Chris, has some kind of mystic ability to remember things from past conversations that he uses to make future stays even more memorable.

Rooms are reasonably priced. The pool areas is very nice. Wait staff was polite and helpful. The big downside that it is very hot in the room even with the AC as high as it goes. Bed are comfortable. Good location
