Wooo good stuff! I had the chicken n biscuit with pimento cheese and two eggs on top and that was insanely good! My girlfriend got the salmon hash that she really liked! Sir Michael was our server and he was a friendly guy and did a great job. Casual atmosphere with a nice brick interior, a historical like look with a few updates that are necessary for today's standards. Great classic rock in the background. Friendly staff. Will come back when we visit again!

Bliss!
The manager is down to earth and attentive. The staff were friendly and informed about the dishes and beverages they serve. The food and drinks were in a world all its own. Great flavors and hints of flavor. Truly a gem in the rough. My wife and I greatly enjoyed this place and must revisit a second time.

The appeal of the restaurant for us was that it was dog friendly. We felt lucky to get one of the two outside tables when we arrived for dinner, which we sat at with our two dogs. We have eaten at dog friendly restaurants in the past and assumed a bowl of water might be brought out for our pups, and were disappointed that this didn't occur.
Service was a little slow, despite the inside not being very busy, but our waitress was polite (if not a bit removed) and apologized for the wait, which we appreciated. I unfortunately had wine I had to return due to disliking the selection, but my fiance and I both ended up ordering the pepper jack chicken panini, which we enjoyed a lot. I had a taste for grits, so I got that as my side - which were sadly bland - and he had the sweet potato fries, which were fantastic!
When I received my bill I realized I had been charged a different amount on my card than the check that was given to me. I showed this to my waitress and she apologized and voided the transaction and re-ran my card for the correct amount.
Mistakes happen and this in no way reflected my rating of the restaurant - it was the fact that no effort was made to amend the experience. With the combined problems from the visit, I know from experience that other restaurants would have made an item complimentary, which has made my overall view much brighter, but this did not occur at B. Matthews.
I can't say we will return again as I know other establishments in the area that I would prefer.

I cannot say enough good about this place. First and foremost the food was excellent and had no problem accommodating me with gluten and dairy allergies. Another beautiful building with local art work inside. You will not bee disappointed.

Happened upon this restaurant purely because we were looking for parking and ended up right in front, but are SO HAPPY WE DID!!! Not only were the Salmon BLT and the Arugula Salad both delicious, we also were treated to an awesome Official Tour Guide level breakdown of the best places to see nearby from our server Antonio. The restaurant itself was cute and was located conveniently close to a lot of great sites. I'll definitely be recommending this to anyone passing through Savannah
