We recently purchased a home and the seller used Old Republic Title. Debbie was the person handling our account. We lost out on $350 due to the title company refusing to recognize that the credits ($6750) issued to us exceeded the closing costs ($6400). We attempted to reconcile the difference but Debbie and her team let the discrepancy be swept under the rug leaving us with the short end of the stick. Where did the money go?! Probably right into Old Republic's pocket. Later they insisted that the total $ 6750 was actually used for "the closing cost," which wasn't finalized even on our closing day. What a convenient answer! Buyer's purchasing a home from a seller using Old Republic beware! Very sloppy and shoddy business practices.
