Thoreau would approve of Beaver Lodge sanctuary. It is a place to commune with nature in the heart of the City. Visiting is a unique Waterfront experience. Bring your binoculars as you can never be sure if some special bird or animal will appear.

Cute wee area of wetland. It's a real shame that the motorway runs right in front of it - kind of a sad reminder that nature is no longer what it once was.

There are ACTUAL Beavers!! Go at dawn or dusk to have the best chance to see them. The neighbors are paranoid voyeurs who have cameras on poles at the entrance and facing the tiny parking area which is both creepy and in the case of the one by the parking, illegal as it is on Park property NOT their property.

Hidden urban wetlands with committed neighborhood benefactors who have completed tons of improvements and removal of non-native plant species, trail improvements and 2 car parking area. ALWAYS TOSS ALL TRASH IN THE TRASH BAGS AT THE TRAIL HEAD!
