It was 2011. I was preparing to move to another state from Seattle. With no warning, my left knee swelled to double its size. The pain was excruciating. I reviewed Orthopedic MD's in Seattle and chose one who was a local sports team's MD...with good reviews. After the MRI, my sports MD told me - good news! No surgery. But, I was told to start physical therapy, and that I could use a pain killer every day for the rest of my life...but the cartilege was gone from my left knee. The traditional PT regime I followed with sincere discipline...and the pain became worse. A friend at work said she had been referred to Steve Thompson...with wonderful results.

In 5 weeks, twice/week, Steve worked with my knee. His gentle and mobility-increasing modalities took me from walking with a walking stick, swollen knee, searing pain, continual fear of falling, to: no support while walking, no pain while walking, perfect balance. I had been to 6 different PTs and had frankly resigned myself to what appeared to be the fact that that there just was not anything that could be done to alleviate pain after my surgery, and that this was something I was just going to have to live with. Steve Thompson is the only PT who was trained to treat the source of the pain, instead of the place where I was experiencing the symptoms. He is masterful, efficient and gifted.
