Stopped by out of curiosity. Old cafeteria style diner where you will find a huge lunch for under $8.00. Cash only! I only had a credit card but the cashier said, "no worries, catch me next time" which I was quite amazed at his kindness. Great little hole in the wall.

Good meals like soups and sandwiches, salads... Freshly made and good prices. Brisk business so be on your toes as you order and pay. Loved it.

I have been eating here for years but never reviewed them before because I'm afraid if i tell you how much i love them you will think I'm crazy. There are other sandwich spots that get lots of attention but BAKEMANS IS THE REAL THING. Eat here or miss out. My PI ex used to have "offices" in the bar area when it was open. Very cool spot.

The sandwich "Nazis". Know what you're ordering before you grab a tray. I'm a Tuesday/Thursday person, opting for the delicious hot plate offerings on those two blessed days (open faced hot turkey with gravy, plus two others in the Salisbury steak/fried chicken/meatloaf/roast pork/etc realm) - all are served with stuffing or mashed, cooked veggies and green salad for under $9. No substitutions. No dilly dallying. No cards. Most customers are regulars from the many law offices and courthouses in the area, grabbing a quick, made to order, cold sandwich for a very reasonable price. Poor lawyers don't know what they're missing. Hot or cold, best turkey in all of downtown, roasted fresh (almost?) every day.
