Fantastic authentic Japanese food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is interesting and cozy, and the Japanese alcohol menu is rather extensive. Very impressed by this place.

This is an insider tip, looks quite unremarkable from outside but has really good food for a reasonable price. Staff was very friendly. They brought us the wrong dish first but we got to keep it for free and got the right one anyway a few minutes later.

Excellent food, environment, atmosphere, and service. I had the gyudon, and loved it. The flavor was great and they got the rice texture absolutely perfect. They also had the best agedashi tofu that I've ever had.
Kaname has a great izakaya feel to it with all the decorations on the walls and stained wood. They were playing a Samurai Champloo DVD on repeat and had Nujabes playing in the background (quiet, relaxed hip hop).
All the staff were super friendly and helpful.
This is my new favorite izakaya in Seattle. Will definitely be back.

I ordered the chirashi and was delighted that the fish and rice were separated. Usually they both come in the same bowl that is really cramped. You end up having to destroy the design completely to get rice for your sashimi slices. The way this place did it made it so you can enjoy the arrangement as long as possible with ease of eating.
