Vetri Glass

I love coming to Vetri. They always have interesting work by glass artists, things I haven't seen anywhere else. I stopped in during First Thursday and have been back to get pretty gifts and jewelry. I wish I could afford some of the sculptures!

I went into this beautiful establishment to have a browse along with 3 other friends. I am neither rich nor poor and dress casual not grubby. The woman working this day was tending to other customers who were probably spending some money. Unfortunately, when she broke away, she had no "welcome" words... which is fine... but as I went to go upstairs to browse, she had the time to stop me and "ask" me not to touch anything up there in a snotty sort of way. After replying "of course", I noticed the sign upstairs that also said "please no touchy".

For future reference... your store is on 1st avenue and right in the hustle bustle of touristy-ville. How about being a little more welcoming? I have enough money to spend on gifts and would have probably bought something there in the future since my lovely love enjoys the glass art. However, after that experience, I will tell no one to browse your fine establishment thus they walk away amiss. It's such a shame, really.

Maybe one day I will find myself in Vetri again. Hopefully, I won't have the same experience. Money comes in all different shapes and sizes my friends....
