Straight up NEGLECTFUL, WAS GIVEN DIRTY BLANKETS, THE LACK OF CARE HERE WAS MIND BLOWING WITH THE EXEPTION OF A FEW DOCTORS. LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND CHILD PLAY THE 12 HOURS I HAD TO BE HERE. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOSPITAL/DAYCARE.
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, LORD KNOWS MY HEART, I WOULD HAVE RATHER DIED THAN SAT ONE MORE MINUTE PLUS THE 12 HOUR STAY I HAD TO BE AT THIS PLACE.

Wonderful hospital with an amazing staff. Everyone was concerned about my well-being.I was there for 3 weeks! The doctors are good, but the nurses were the shining stars...especially in the Neuro ICU!

I used to work here for awhile, and I must say, with the little pay I made, it's almost not worth working here, not with dealing with angry people in the ER waiting room who have no basic education or understanding of how the ER operates. That is probably why some of the representatives are jaded out. It's a tough job dealing with angry people who are in pain. Not only that, but also dealing with nurses and doctors that have made me feel invisible when I tried to request help or information from them. I've stood nearby right in their frame of view trying not to interrupt their talk, but to wait for a chance to speak to them, and they'll just storm off. I have never felt so alone and isolated at a job before. And you can tell clear as day whose a higher-up and who is at the bottom of a person's boot. I always made an effort to smile at people when walking by, and am appalled by how something as simple as smiling and greeting is a difficult thing to do. I hold the door open for people and get no gratitude. Then again, it's a hectic environment.

The reviews that have complained about the ER waiting time, while I understand it's frustrating to wait that long, you need to also understand that you are not the only ones in pain and need of medical assistance. Chairs will fill up like crazy whether it's the most critical reason like shortness of breath, to the silliest, such as a puny cold. Ambulances are back and forth with us throughout the day with gunshot wounds, suicide attempts, car wrecks, etc. Then we have mentally ill patients, which is VERY frequent. Once we get trauma patients, all the doctors rush to the back for those patients. We also have to reserve rooms for trauma patients. Not all rooms are for the same reason. So, you may see some people going in and out whether or not you signed in before or after them. Sometimes it can take awhile to get patients out of rooms and prepare and clean those rooms for more patients from the ER. An assault victim could take HOURS to get out of the room, especially after lab work, rape kits, police reports, etc. Another thing is that uneducated people are to blame for your long wait in the waiting room. If only they'd go a clinic like a Quick Care, etc. for the littlest things!!! Also, people FAKE their illnesses and act like they're in so much pain to haste being seen before everybody else. So, yes, if you're thinking about coming to this ER, get a blanket, pillow, and some snacks, because you WILL wait awhile.

Ugh, worst experience. I'm sure I grew a few gray hairs.

My husband was seriously hurt recently and was taken to University Health in Shreveport. We were pleased with the nurses and thought the doctors were outstanding. The facilities were not comfortable for those of us who stayed overnight. A straight chair was the only seating/bed available in this double room. I would think that this is caused by the cuts in funding. The only area that we had real problems with was food service. Not only was the food inferior, but it was not served regularly. It was not unusual for breakfast to be served at 9:30 A.M, lunch between 2:00-3:00 P.M., and dinner at 7:00 P.M. One day lunch was served after 3:00 P.M and dinner was never brought around. Patients without families to help just have to go to bed hungry. I find it hard to believe that there is no more oversight on how our tax dollars are spent. From comments heard this is standard ongoing procedure.
