I was basically told I was of no importance .... When I asked when I would be seen...even though my doctor office told me to come in cause of my surgery not recovering as I'm supposed to..... been waiting for 3 n half hours. ...and still waiting ....never coming back

Be weary about coming here at night with a real complaint like pressure in your chest. The drug seekers are coming in and get seen first. I felt unsafe in the lobby & waited 4 hours while many went back before me who were pretending then walking out fine an hour later.

We had to take our nine year old grandson to ER on Monday, July 31st as he had been having diarrhea for 8 days straight. He was also throwing up some - throughout those 8 days too. My wife took him in as we were figuring this was not a flu but must be something more serious. Our grandson was visiting us from another state and just 4 days before our daughter - his mom, left to go back home. We were planning on enjoying another week with him in Spokane before we all meet up together in Southern Oregon for a family time together. The doctor that helped us did not have good bedside manners at all, would not listen to what was concerning us - that he had been in a lake the week before he got sick, kept asking my wife - so it's been 3 days now (NO IT'S BEEN 8 DAYS NOW!). At one point when the nurses were asking about the test that needed to be done, he said NO, I'm not going to do those tests on his stool, etc. After 6 hours and a drip IV our grandson was released with anti-nausea medicine to help stop the throwing up, with instructions to wait until the tests come back. On Thursday we felt he was losing ground and the diarrhea was still very very bad, and under the direction of our daughter, who called Holy Family ER and conferred with another doctor on duty Thursday, it was decided to take our grandson to Sacred Heart Pediatric ER. After 7 hours there on Thursday, August 3, 2017, we had a lot more answers and help from a very professional doctor and staff. We will never recommend Holy Family Hospital to anyone ever, but will totally recommend Sacred Heart to all! They were wonderful and helpful and our grandson is doing much better today - Saturday. What a week!

mixed feelings, years ago, my 1st exp in the ER was not good. really crappy attitudes, delayed response etc.etc.etc. im a (GP) Dr's. daughter and worked with my dad for over 10 yrs. nursing, surgeries and more. we worked with local hospitals and ER's also. I am not use to barely adequate medical care from the nursing staff, if we did that, we would have been fired on the spot. my 2nd. visit(s) very very ill, i did get a diagnosis finally from a nice Dr. there. therefore the mixed feelings, but then that was just one Dr. there, not the nursing staff. today my daughter went in, the nursing staff was horribly inadequate. she went in dizzy and almost fainting, low B/P and they delayed (again) any treatment, even getting water. since her B/P on their normal machines was all over the place, she had since enough to ask for a normal B/P to be taken via stethoscope and B/P cuff ? they could not do it ! ?, excuse me, DO YOUR JOB! and listen to your patient too. a B/P with a normal cuff and stethoscope is not "rocket science" .... she was told it would take an hour and a half to get her B/P taken with a normal cuff. they saw her B/P was all over the place with the wall machines, which NO would should allow a med. prof. to use one if there is any B/P issue at all. she knew that, most patients do not. she got no IV fluids, no exam, nada. she walked out. got some water . got no help. she would have been better off going to a fire house to get a correct B/P and proper decision for followup. next time maybe if she came in by amb she would have got some kind of attention, right ? uggh.... boo, ER here; FAIL nursing staff, ... FAIL big time. :(

I could write a 6 page letter on my experience but I will make it short. The time spent at Holy Family - starting at the Emergency Rm - was EXCELLENT - every Doctor, Nurse, Office worker & Helper, treated me with GREAT respect and ever so caring. I espesally loved all my shift Nurses. I had a bleeding ulcer - I had NO IDEA.. They took me in and took EXCELLENT CARE of me. The room was excellent too - OMG the beds they have are so high tec - I loved it. The food(I could only have liquids) was excellent and the food folks were there to deliver great food products. I hope IF I ever have to return to a Hospital - I could only hope its at Providence Holy Family.... Sincerely, Thank you - Jeanie Curry
