I want to thank Dr. Vicunas and staff at Feeding Hills Animal Hospital for their professionalism and compassion when we had to euthanize our 13 yr dog recently.
From the initial phone call to make the appointment to the actual day they were so kind.
I might add that despite the fact that they are not our usual veterinarian, our dog and we were treated with caring and respect.

I would not take my cats anywhere else except to Dr. Rick. He loves what he does and has been successfully doing so for the past 35 years. His whole life has been about saving ALL animals. He gets 5 stars in my book.

please don't take any animal here!!! This horrific story is currently being shared....they should be reported to authorities and put out of business. Should get zero stars, but have to pick one to post....
"I don't usually take to facebook to complain about anything, but what I saw today, left me so shocked and horrified that I would feel wrong not letting everyone else know about this sham of an animal hospital. Here's some background. My aunt took her cat to this animal hospital to get him neutered. What happened instead was an absolute nightmare. Somehow, the cat's testicle traveled up into his abdomen and the vet had to go in and get it from there. How this happened, I'm not sure, but the cat was picked up from the hospital half butchered. Today my aunt asks me to come with her as a translator (she has poor English) to the vet's in order to take the cat's staples out from the surgery. When we got there, two dogs walked in and frightened the cat. Understandable. Shortly after, the vet called us into the examining room. He informed us that if the cat misbehaved it would be an additional charge of $75 to give him an injection to calm him down. The cat was still on edge from the encounter with the dogs, and instead of trying to calm him down, the vet grabbed the cage and tipped it over and proceeded to shake the cage as hard as he could trying to get the cat to fall out of there WHILE his assistant grabbed the cat by the scruff and yanked on him. I stood back in shock watching this scene. Since this was my first time at an animal hospital, I had mistakenly assumed that these fools knew how to deal with animals. The cat was obviously distraught and yowled and hissed and refused to come out of the cage. Now keep in mind, this is a tame household kitty that plays with my little cousins and would never scratch or bite them. However, the vet did nothing to try to calm the cat down and instead kept repeating how only a $75 injection would be helpful in removing the cat's staples. We asked the vet to leave the room, and opened the cage and picked the cat up. He immediately calmed down and started licking my aunt's hand. When the vet returned, he seemed annoyed that the cat had calmed down with us, and kept telling us that the cat was vicious and would bite our hands/face. Next, he said he needed to put the cat on his back in order to take the staples out. My aunt and me held the cat down as we did not want either vet or helper touching the cat again. The cat lay perfectly still and did not fight us at all while the vet clipped the staples and pulled them out. THIS NEXT PART IS ANIMAL ABUSE!!! The vet apparently was not happy with how calm the cat was behaving as he had just labeled him vicious and told us that he was completely wild and unmanageable without a shot to knock him out. As soon as he was done removing the staples, he out of no where took his thumb and jammed it into the soft spots where he had just taken the stitches out!!! The cat loudly cried out in pain and jerked a little bit, but still didn't bite my aunt. This whole time the vet was saying how these soft and tender areas have to be kept out of the water and as he's talking he jams his thumb once more into the wound. I sharply tell him to get away from the cat and he steps away. This whole time the cat had not once bitten or scratched anybody. I was extremely upset and began to question the vet and his handling of the cat and instead of staying there, he walked out of the room on me!!! We took the poor, frightened cat and walked out of there. On the way out, I asked the receptionist for a customer complaint form and she smugly told me they didn't have one and their animal hospital wasn't online so I couldn't complain there either. Please share this story and if you love your pet, do not take them here!! These people do not know how to deal with animals!!!" — at Feeding Hills Animal Hospital.

Dr. Vicunas has always been wonderful towards myself and my dog. His affection for dogs is evident! I have never felt rushed and I feel their prices are very fair compared to others in the area. If I have ever called for a question, the staff are always polite and genuine. I have always felt comfortable with this Vet and his staff! Reading some other reviews, I think some people need to complain about something all the time. Never had a problem here!
