My husband was brought in by ambulance because his liver is failing and he has jaundice. They won't admit him because he's not sick enough? Bad staff bad hospital avoid at all costs.

*Last night I came to Crouse because I pulled a muscle in my back and was in 10/10 pain. This has happened to me a couple of times before and the pain is so bad I need to stay in bed for a few days. I missed school for two days and am having a hard time sleeping, standing, walking, and sitting up. I've taken otc Advil and used icy hot patches and nothing helped. I finally decided to go to the emergency room last night and was there for about two hours and nobody would see me or talk to me. Once they found out I didn't have insurance the staff at the reception area told me my pain "wasn't important enough" to be seen promptly. There weren't many people in the e.r. at the time of my visit and I was the last one called and was brought to a room where I sat by myself for over an hour. One of the nurses told me I wouldn't be seen for "a few hours."
*At this point I asked a nurse who came into your room for water and she said to give her some time. Then I asked another nurse and he said I had to see the doctor first. At this point I was looking for a drinking fountain and I couldn't find one. I asked a woman in passing if there was a water fountain anywhere and she said "no" and got really upset that I asked her because apparently she was a housekeeper and not a nurse and it "wasn't her job" to help me out with this. As I walked away I said "Well this sucks" under my breath because I was frustrated I was being denied service and couldn't even get a drink or water and this woman started SCREAMING and becoming very aggressive with me and I didn't know why this was happening. It was completely unprofessional and quite frankly scared me that someone in a trusted medical profession could completely snap like that. At this point I no longer felt safe or valued at Crouse and I decided to leave. As I walked past the woman and a security guard I heard her complaining about me and I was asked to apologize to her or leave. I was already on my way out the door and I was afraid to go anywhere near that woman so I decided to leave.
*After this my girlfriend came in to get a customer relations phone number or to talk to a supervisor. Security refused to call a supervisor and gave her a pamphlet to bring home with a phone number on it. When she asked the security guard why I didn't have any discharge papers and was refused service he stated that the incident with the woman took place because she was a house keeper, not a nurse. When she asked for the house keeper's name to have on record for this report he stated "Nope, I don't know her name. Just her face." And smiled. The security guard was a large, African American man with a deep voice and the house keeper was a short, overweight woman with black curly hair and glasses.
*I am from Washington state and have been seen at hospitals in Washington, Alabama, New Orleans, Florida, Idaho, and North Dakota and have never had this horrible of an experience. New Orleans is notorious for not seeing homeless youth with no insurance and I have seen people wait for over 24 hours with severe pain and knife wounds and things of that nature before they were even taken out of the waiting room. And honestly, at this point I would have rather been seen in their hospital than at Crouse. I was under the impression that Crouse is one of the best hospitals in the country and is compassionate towards all patients, whether they have $1 million or $1 to their name. I was sadly proven wrong about this last night. At least in New Orleans it is expected you won't be seen in a timely fashion and that the staff doesn't care about you as opposed to Crouse's nuanced acceptance of all patients. I will never return to this hospital and will do my best to steer my family and friends away from here. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any health care provider and never thought this would be possible. Crouse really let me down.

Gave birth to our third child here. Originally from Utica area, but Utica does not allow VBAC delivery after C section. The atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. On this occasion wanted to give special thanks to RN Lory and mid wife Janet who were there during the delivery.

My 95 year old father was treated with the utmost respect. His medical care was the best! So caring and through in every way.

The people at Crouse were amazing for my Mom. Very kind, willing to answer questions and friendly! She was well taken care of while there! I can't thank the faculty and staff enough!
