James Brownie is the best thing on the menu, even though the rest of the menu is excellent. If you don't go to or work at SU than parking can be a little bit of a hassle, but if you want to avoid that, go here when the college is on a holiday break. This is one of Syracuse's culinary treasures though.

Such a funky place (as the name suggests!). Options for everyone - and not your traditional waffles! The owners have applied such a creative flare to this fun place. The falafel waffle was fantastic and very filling! If I go again, I'll likely get 1/2 of 1 type and 1/2 of another so I can try more of their awesome options!

The best waffles that you can have! Ever! Also one of the few waffle only places. Try their brownie waffle!
Also if just visiting the university campus for a day, this is a place you must visit!

Kind of soggy waffles- great fried chicken, though! The woman taking orders was monotoned and seemed pissed that she was there (and that we were there). One of our orders came out wrong and had to be remade- after which the monotoned woman didn't know if she should give us a new buzzer or not. We got one and waited some more, and finally got the "smoked" turkey and mozzarella waffle... it was two big pieces of thinly sliced poor-deli quality turkey that looked like it was thrown on the grill for a few seconds only. Syrup was watery. Tried to take a leftover soda out after not finishing it only to find out all their cup covers were too small, so we had to throw it out. Overall would not recommend.

This was my 1st experience with chicken and waffles, I'm a chicken fanatic and not a fan of waffles. The food was incredible! Food presentation was very good. Waffles were soft and tasty, and the chicken was fantastic! Chicken had a great crispy, tasty batter and was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend Funk n Waffles. Great decor and great music!
