There’s a sense in which this church is very pompous. Friends, I don’t want to say critical mass, but there’s also a sense in which this church is entirely toxic and imploding within from hypocrisy. Do I not make a valid point to the christian?

I was raised in a Conservative and Lutheran home. I have studied the Bible and its many Reformed commentaries. At this congregation, I found it particularly confusing to understand the pastors brazen tone and depressing style of preaching. I have never really experienced such a stuffy and rigid understanding of our God's Word. It seemed that this church held a cult-like atmosphere like no other Christian church I've been. Perhaps I need to revisit my understanding of the text itself.
I was raised in a Conservative and Lutheran home. I have studied the Bible and its many Reformed commentaries. At this congregation, I found it particularly confusing to understand the pastors brazen tone and depressing style of preaching. I have never really experienced such a stuffy and rigid understanding of our God's Word. It seemed that this church held a cult-like atmosphere like no other Christian church I've been. Perhaps I need to revisit my understanding of the text itself.

I attended this church for four years. It should tell the reader something significant that I feel compelled to use a pseudonym to write this review. There is little to no charity towards others. It is structured very much like the Jewish Tabernacle: there is a group that I would term The Holy of Holies and the remainder, and bulk of the congregation, are The Great Unwashed. The GUs are not really allowed to socially ascend as they might pollute the pure inner group. I thank God on a regular basis that my children no longer sit under the rigid and retrograde leadership. Please understand, I would consider myself classically reformed and orthodox theologically, politically conservative and broadly well educated. This church is exceedingly sick and oppressive. I would urge in the strongest possible way that young and old followers of Jesus or even those curious about Christianity assiduously avoid this pharisaical abyss.

We have grown so much spiritually under the solid, bible centered preaching and classes. Pastors, Elders and Deacons are very sincere and great examples of Christ's love. My husband has thoroughly enjoyed the Fellows Program, which teaches about a God-centered world view based on the foundation of his Word. The Children's ministries are wonderful. My children are always well taken care of.
