Local bar, liquor store with great food at reasonable prices. Historic and great atmosphere with friendly locals.

Had Jennifer as our server. She was friendly and very prompt. Busboy got us water and bread almost immediately as we sat. Food was good and very reasonably priced. Nice quaint and rustic atmosphere. Would recommend.

Here's our experiences I'd love to share:
1.) A few months back, my boyfriend and his friend had gone here to have dinner. A young woman had just started working here and was a little slow because she was still learning. So Michelle (another waitress, brown hair and older) began "helping" the young woman because Michelle had gotten frustrated. Not only was Michelle rude, but she was also slower than the girl who had just started. The food had taken two hours to come to the table and the restaurant was not even crowded.
2.) My boyfriend and I had decided to go back because maybe the last time they were just having a rough night. The restaurant was not crowded and everything seemed to be going well. We sat down and had a blonde older waitress named Pam. This woman was not only so rude, but she also had said to us, "I don't know what the F*** is going on at the bar and why it is taking so long. I will be back in a minute". About ten minutes later she came over with my boyfriend's beer and never after that did she ask if he wanted another one. The food as always was out of this world, which is why we always come back, but our waitress always seems to be so nasty. We even caught her yelling at both of the busboys and cursing at them. Very professional!! We both wound up agreeing on leaving in hopes that next time would be better.
3.) Two months later, my boyfriend and I decided to go back just for appetizers. We had Michelle again as our waitress. She spoke to us when we walked in and to give us our check. The busboys and girl took care of us throughout the whole night and they were absolutely wonderful! The food was very good as always, but again our waitress was not. I asked one of the workers if they split the tips when we were walking out because I do not think she deserved anything from us. I wish we could have given the people who actually helped and were nice to us their own tip instead of to that horrid woman.
Long story short, the busboys and girls are awesome. The chef is amazing!! The bar tender is pretty great! As for the waitresses, such a disappointment. I never rate any place, but this by far needed to be said because I feel that the people actually being awesome do not get recognized enough. From now on we will be sitting at the bar to get our food and my boyfriend can get his drinks that way...or we will order it to go. Absolutely disgusted with the waitresses every time, and being that I work with the public every day and know how stressful at times it may get, this is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. ...But you know who asked me? Certainly NOT the waitress. LOL

I thought I was going to a quaint, rustic bar. Wrong. It is a dive bar with an over priced menu. You think you are getting restaurant quality food then they serve you premade, processed food. To top it off, they warm it up in a microwave.

Had dinner last Thursday with 6 other men. We have dinner once monthly. The food was decent. I had Veal which was tender. One of the men in our group celebrated his 80th birthday and my wife made special cub cakes for me to take for us to enjoy. When I placed the container on the table the waitress came over and said to remove them immediately because there are cameras and the owner is watching! We were all amazed by her remark. She then told us it was a liability issue because we might eat something not served by their restaurant and have a problem and then sue them. What a crazy and stupid statement that would have no merit in a court of law! If the real reason is that we didn't choose to purchase dessert from them then I can understand. It's too bad because now they lost an opportunity for our business. Generally we have a couple drinks in the bar before dinner and 3 or 4 of us have a drink after dinner. The average dinner tab is about $200 without alcohol. So goodbye Yardville Inn! We'll take our business elsewhere.
