My doctor told me that he had sent a referral to this facility because I had a fast spreading form of cancer. I waited several days and finally took it upon myself to call and schedule an appointment. They got me set up for the next week. My appointment ended up being canceled due to bad weather. I was told they would call me to reschedule. They didn't, so I called, left messages over 3 days & finally got the appointment rescheduled.
They got me in that week and I liked the staff, the nurse was super nice!
I was suppose to have my follow up appointment the next week, and it got canceled due to bad weather again. This was on a Thursday, I tried to reschedule, they wouldn't do it at that time. I called Friday morning and had to leave a message. I called again Friday afternoon, left a message. They finally called me at 6:30 Friday evening and told me that the doctor I was seeing was going on vacation, but they would try to get me in for the next week. I was assured I would receive a call on Monday. It is now Monday...no call! I called this afternoon and left yet another message. It is now 9:40pm and I did not hear back from anybody.
This is a VERY frustrating. It has now taken 3 week, for me to just have one appointment. I understand that they have no control over the weather, but I do not feel like I should be having to try so hard to get on the schedule. A cancer diagnosis might not mean much to them, but as a mother of 2 young children, I would really like to know what the plan of action is, as well as prognosis.

I have never had cancer before. I did not know what to expect. I found a very busy waiting room filled with men and women of various ages. They seemed to know each other to some extent and were very much at home with the building and the staff. I went to the lab first to have blood drawn. Nothing unusual. After another little wait, I saw the oncologist, Dr. Donald Richards. Just an ordinary guy in jeans, boots and a lab coat. He could have been a cattle rancher. We started discussing my case and at one juncture said, "Just a minute, I want to look at your blood." So he went out and the blood tests were not only already done but there were samples for him to examine. No need to wait for "results" and then have another visit. I was terribly impressed with their protocol, efficiency and expertise. Amazing. He's my oncologist for my breast cancer. I'm delighted. I know I'm in great hands. GREAT hands.
