Of the many Mexican food places to eat in Tyler this should be on your list. Really quaint atmosphere and excellent service combined with good food and historic downtown makes for a wonderful dining experience.

The food is traditional Mexican with great margaritas and tacos. Their soup and shrimp dishes are also excellent. Very casual friendly environment with great service - family owned and operated. Eat Local.

Best real Mexican food in town. You can get Tex Max favorites as well as some traditional dishes like seafood stew, mole, migas and tortas. Great margaritas, too. The house secret is the "Steve" margarita. I highly recommend, but careful with them. They are strong.

Great food and customer service. Authentic tastes and environment. I managed to get a fairly large splinter while scooting into my booth seat, but that's only happened once

Indifferent waitress! Wish I'd gotten her name. Store mgr defended her, so I guess it doesn't matter.
I was there for a political rally which became way too large for this venue. While we were waiting I noticed that the food looked and smelled wonderful! After it was over, I moved to a table farther from the door. I received my drink order and chips and salsa. Everything was good that far. Waitress came back, and I placed my order. Told her I was going to the restroom to wash my hands. I came back and found my table empty and my political literature gone! My waitress was leaning against the back wall visiting with other servers. She hadn't even noticed! The mgr went into the kitchen and evidently dug my paperwork out of the trash. It was rumpled and wet! I left! 😤
