Would give NO STARS if it were an option.

Not really the most friendly of people who work here. All of the workers seem to hang around the dogs. But even these workers aren't attentive or personable (to the customers or the dogs). I've seen dogs fighting each other so bad in those little animal cruel cages and dogs completely passed out with their pee and poop all over them and their cage. Must be hard for them. Plus, I got into trouble with a worker once because a dog that I was interested in buying had pooped on the floor and I didn't pick up the dog right after. Now, I understand that picking up the dog would have been the BEST thing to do to reduce the risk of him stepping in it, and I would have but this dog was being very mean and biting at my ankles really hard and almost growling. I did try my best to keep him away from his poop, but its a hard thing to do when its jumping at your hands and feet growling and biting hard. This dog was SUPER calm in his "cage" but SUPER aggressive when taken out. By this time I was basically standing on the bench in the "play area".

When I kept trying to get a workers attention, they just kept walking by me not even bothering to look my way. I notice that most workers just stand around talking to one another. One worker laughed at the way the dog was acting. Yeah, a mean dog attacking a customer is totally something to laugh at. The lady who took the dog away scolded me and said that I made her job "harder" on her because "it puts bacteria and other stuff" on her. Well, if you had answered my call sooner or if you realize that you work at a PET STORE where you are going to come in contact with bacteria 24/7 then it wouldn't bother you as much?!
I mean, please.

Very unprofessional, especially because the dog actually really hurt me. Once I walked out, I checked my ankle and I had a bit of blood from where the dog bit me. I could have sued, FWI.

I don't expect the PetLand of Tyler to see or even take the time to read my review of them because there costumer service needs a lot of work.
My suggestion is to get workers who have some sort of animal experience and are personable.

My experience makes me NEVER want to return here.

I recently purchased a English bulldog from a breeder, I took the puppy to a local veterinarian in town to have him checked out, long story short the breeder screwed me because the puppy had a disease known as Leptospirosis, you can look up the description on your own time. Apparently I was too late in order for the treatment to take effect resulting in me having to put the puppy down, if I would have known sooner none of this would have ever happened and now I am left heartbroken and quite disappointed of this outcome, now because of this I will never go purchase directly from a breeder again. This brings me to today, due to feeling like there is a hole in my heart I decided that in order to recover from this I would have to redeem myself and purchase a puppy once more, and other then going directly to a breeder I went into petland knowing that there puppies were well taken care of and that they had a guarantee if the puppy happened to be sick, I spoke to a associate I think his name was Rick or Erick, pretty sure it was Erick due to him being a Hispanic and walking up to me assuming I spoke Spanish too, lets not get off track here. Alright so I spoke to him and told him my story with the breeder and I could feel that he had sympathy for what happened too which made me trust what he was saying, I told him I was looking to get a English Bulldog and he said that at the moment they had a Victorian Bulldog which was pretty much the English bulldogs cousin, he gave me a quote of $3500 including a puppy crate, training classes, warranty, veterinary discounts and a microchip, not a bad package for $3500 but due to me losing money from purchasing directly from the breeder I asked if he could give me a better offer, he said that due to my story he was willing to go down to $3000 which immediately brought joy to my eyes, needles to say I walked out of Petland with a puppy that day and I thank Erick for his open heart and making my frown turn upside down, now me and rocky(thats what I named him! :D) being healthy and all can go to the park and have some fun in order to truly become a mans best friend. Thanks for reading this review!

I really appreciate that Petland stands by their guarantee. We bought an Australian Shepard from the Petland who had kennel cough and they reimbursed us for all the Vet visits including the x rays and everything. They didn't have to do this but took care of us. I doubt an individual seller would pay what they paid us for vet visit so they certainly have integrity.

The puppies looked very healthy and the store was clean. The staff was also very nice. As a first time dog owner, everything they had to say was so helpful!

The only reason that I did not give this place a one star was because of the young woman that worked in the fish department and the other young woman that helped us towards the end of our visit.

I went in to inquire about a Corgi and was immediately dismissed because apparently I had already been there earlier to ask about said puppy. This is my first time visiting Petland and my last.

They had to find someone to get the puppy out of the kennel and while that was understandable, I was not impressed when the older woman just placed me and my friend in a play area and walked off. They only gave us a rag to help us play with puppy and did not stick around to ask if we had any questions.

Second the puppy peed all over the floor and smeared it everywhere. I understand the puppy is young, but if he was in a kennel all day, shouldn't they have done that before bringing him to us. It also took a while to get the attention of a store employee that wasn't talking with another employee to get the puppy. Even the young woman that helped us was confused when she noticed the lack of toys.

Like I said earlier, the only saving grace this place had was the young lady in the fish department. She explained to us about every fish we inquired about, explained to us the pros and cons of fresh water and salt water fish. Took our concerns into account and even explained how they can order a fish we were interested in. She was obviously very passionate about her work and it showed. The others, not so much. I will not be going back there.
