I've been going to this office for over 25 years, since I was in college here in Valdosta, and they used to be fairly descent, but over last few years it seems there sub par performance and quality of care has become the norm.
Though my records in this office goes back to the 90s, the last several times I've visited there office- they act as if they never seen me before, twice they had dropped me as a patient & for zero reason & I had to get them to reenact my being a patient. And like many others have stated, about seeing only nurse practitioners or dr assistants ,
I bet I haven't seen my doctor in about the last 3 years, though I've had at least 8-10 appointments during that timeframe, and I was very dissatisfied on my last appointment- as I specifically asked to see my doctor, they confirmed I would see my doctor,
And the nurse practitioner walks into the room, and he's an ok guy but knows zero about my medical history & prior conversations I've had with the doctor.
Also, I asked to have the doctor call me, with an important question about an upcoming surgery, it's been several weeks & he hadn't called yet.
I sincerely need to find another doctors office, but sadly for what I've seen,
This is the standard operating procedures within most area doctors offices here in Valdosta,
The family doctor is not what it used to be.
You used to count on.

Big positive: everyone was super friendly and helpful. Negatives: No one wore gloves--the assistant that took my vitals, the doctors, the CNA that swabbed the back of my throat for strep...no one! The facility was also noticeably older and I didn't like that it seemed a bit disorganized(lots of files, papers, and just stuff, stuff, and more stuff lying everywhere)

I do not recommend this office. After being recommended to us by friends, we made an appt with this office weeks in advance, my husband scheduled time off work and the day of he was called to say they had to reschedule without explanation. We have tried to call this office since to speak with a manager and no one will speak to us or return our calls. NOT PROFESSIONAL at all!!! Just a number in the system to them.

Let me say this, I normally love this place!! This is my physician office. I have been going for over 10 years. I have two problems with them. When you have an appointment and you end up seeing an physician assistant. If I made an appointment with the Dr. then I want to see the Dr. not a PA. use them for the clinic. When I go to the clinic and see the PA, teach them some skills for patient kindness and not just blowing you off. I've been going for several years, and the PA they have when I went to the clinic in Feb. treated me like crap!! I am HIGHLY disappointed. I hope this is not sign of things to come.

It’s all been said in the other five star reviews. Dr. Bishop and the staff at Valdosta Family Medicine are all I could have hoped for in a medical practitioner. He has been my primary care physician for over 15 years now and has always provided the absolute best care, and I believe, best advice and treatment during every visit and for every issue.

I strongly feel that Dr. Bishop is the ideal of a family doctor. He genuinely cares, he is professional and he makes an investment in the health and well being of his patients. If you are looking for a doctor whose medical knowledge is comprehensive, treats the whole person, and takes the time to be caring even while maintaining a very efficient office, then Dr. Bishop and the staff at Valdosta Family Medicine are who you should consider visiting. 6 Stars if they had them!
