Service on a Friday night was good. Upstairs was busy but in the basement bar my group was the only one there was amazing!

Super cheap wings and pitchers of beer weekly. The wings were meatier and cooked through, which can be a challenge on wing night at other DC establishments.

I used to live 3 blocks from Cap Lounge and have so many great memories of this place! I have since moved away but my boyfriend and I were visiting this weekend and I have told him so much about how great it was so we had planned to go for months now. Last night, the bouncer refused to let my boyfriend in unless he showed him another form of photo ID besides his license. He did not have another photo ID but offered his social security card AND voters registration card and he STILL wouldn't let him in (he literally had everything he would need to prove his identity lol). After I expressed by frustration and told the bouncer how I used to come all the time, he was extremely rude to me and called me a liar (Cap Lounge even follows me on twitter!! Lol). I had been before when the bouncer suspected someone of using a fake ID so he asked them to pull up their email (genius!), but even after offering to show him his social media/email accounts he refused to let him in. So, not only are they apparently extremely unfair (and this is also illegal), Cap Lounge lost our business last night and in the future since I will be moving back in the spring.

Nice DC themed bar with patio space and outdoor seating. Can be noisy later in the night, but the bartenders are terrific and the location is good. A great spot to get a few drinks in the evening!
