If you are someone who gets exhausted by the hustle and bustle of a city like DC, Kingman and Heritage Island Park is for you. Metro on over to Stadium-Armory and walk over to the small bridge to the left of the stadium. Once over, you'll feel like you're in a small part of the Shenandoah National Forest. Walk around the island by the water and enjoy the trees. At some point, you'll walk under the bridge filled with beautiful graffiti and Instagram worthy moments.

Warning: Don't go here alone. It's a little creepy at times. Take a friend or two or your dog.
