One of the best Italian restaurant places in USA! The food is great, service even more amazing! Waiters have sense of humor and are very nice... You can learn a lot about Italian culture and taste amazing food as well. Definitely recommend you to go there but understand that you should reserve a place 2 days early. We got lucky with my friends and they placed us right away because we were in a hurry and they were very understanding. Amazing place to have dinner or lunch and you should try the wine too!

The food was great and the service was okay. We got in during the lunchtime switch to dinner so they were busy and the waiter didn’t know we were in his section until about 15 min later. I don’t blame him since he was busy setting up and the host stand didn’t let him know but I didn’t feel like we were given much attention even after all that. I would’ve given a 5/5 star rating if it wasn’t for that. Still highly recommend!

Incredible Italian. Could be considered more "touristy" but honestly, their food is to die for. Deserves much higher ratings than it has on here. Incredible authentic/traditional Italian! Would recommend to anyone in D.C.!

Amazing service. Fresh pasta. What more could you ask for. This place is super charming. They dress up the restaurant seasonally and go over the top with it!

I love Filomena and it will always be a special place to my wife and I, but there are a few negatives people should be aware of...
Brunch Buffet - I don't know if they are still doing this but it's not really worth it. For you, or them.
Lunch - limited menu which unfortunately, excludes a few of my favorite dishes from the dinner menu, however, on occasion you can request the dinner dish (for dinner price) and they can make it.
They have changed up the bread, herbs, and oils that they bring in the beginning of the meal, which to most probably isn't that big of a deal, but the old combination used to be amazing. It's a little disappointing, but also probably for the best that you don't fill up on bread.
Not sure if they still do it but around major holidays, they used to decorate the hell out of the place. If you are planning a romantic night and you don't want to go to Christmas Town, then this might not be the place for you.
So, if you are still interested, dinner is the absolute best. Food is great and wine selection is solid. Staff and service have always been on point. I personally think the decorations make it more of a family-friendly environment, but with the same great food and service of an upscale restaurant.
