My partner and I had a TERRIBLE experience here a few days ago. I'm surprised at some of the recent reviews of others. Our dining nightmare started with a RUDE WAITER, a male of around 45 years old. He had an unfriendly look and demeanor the whole time and acted as if he resented having to serve there.
When we were selecting beverages, I asked if I could have a list, and he indicated there wasn't one. Then he mentioned a lower quality substitute. I said no, do you have this one, and he just said no and mentioned two other lower quality options. He didn't want to bother and go get a list, even though they had them stacked up about 50 feet away. I had to go and look at what they had; they did actually have what I had requested, sitting right there at the bar.
When he brought the beverage, it was the worst of its kind I've ever had. Something tasted funny in it -- I wonder how carefully the glass had been rinsed and was concerned about accidental mixing of substances around the kitchen or bar area. Beyond this, there seemed to be no additional ingredients. I asked if he could add the main other ingredient for this beverage so I would have at least have the bare bones correct, and when he brought it back, it was the same -- nothing was added. When they were winding down the buffet, the waiter just came by and in an unfriendly manner just stated, "We're closing" and abruptly left. The food was below-standard, and I became to feel worse as I finished my course.
THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER RECEIVED, AND SOMETHING TASTED "OFF" IN THE BEVERAGE AND IN THE FOOD.
The owners may want to have this waiter REMOVED from the roster immediately (and to inspect and more carefully maintain conditions in the kitchen and bar) if they want to provide decent dining experiences and continue to draw enough customers to stay in business. I have never encountered a more negative and discouraging server before.
We both felt ill after leaving the restaurant and were very concerned about possible problems at the restaurant, such as poor sanitary conditions and an awful server.
Perhaps the owners can work on correcting the situation; for the time being, my advice is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT, GIVEN SANITARY or other PROBLEMATIC CONDITIONS.

Great place to go and party. Saturdays is beautiful. Everyone should go check it out. Food , fun, great people. It's safe as well

This Indian restaurant is not ureasonably priced for a full service restaurant. Best entree value is the Tandoori chicken, which resembles fried chicken with a side of rice and a ramekin of tasty sauce, for $16. Many other entrees of chicken or lamb or vegetables. Plus sides and smaller vegetable entrees, including two excellent lentil dishes for $11 and $12. No salads on menu, but you can order a large or small green salad. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 pm and after 10 pm, but you have to sit in the bar area to qualify. Bar is convivial, and a favorite watering spot of middle-class African-Americans from this mixed neighborhood, plus white folks.

A rude and patronizing manager
We tried to go there at 6:45 pm and have dinner, starting with some of the happy hour drinks. It was impossible to convince the manager to sit us in the dining area to order dinner AND have the drinks. He insisted "the rule" is happy hour drinks at the bar and dinner in the dining area, no exceptions. Plus that he was rude! Certainly not the Indian way to do bussiness, more the soviet way... our rule is our rule and nothing else matters.
