I gave these guys my childhood swimming medals to be framed in early April 2017. Gino said they'd be ready in 3 weeks

3 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
4 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
5 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
6 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
7 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
8 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.
9 weeks later: Tiffany said Gino was still working on it.

At this point, I showed up in person, and it turned out that the medals hadn't been touched. At all. Instead, they were exactly how I left them, collecting dust.

Where was Gino? Tiffany didn't know; he wasn't responding to text messages.

She said Gino would be in tomorrow, and that he'd call me as soon as he arrived at 9 AM. By 10:30, I hadn't heard anything, so I showed up. Neither Tiffany nor Gino was in. Maybe they'd arrive around noon, the guy at the front desk told me.

At 2 PM, I still hadn't heard anything, so I went back in. I was told Gino would be in at 4 PM. At this point, I took my medals home with me.

As if this weren't bad enough, I paid 50% upfront. But Tiffany couldn't refund me -- apparently, only Gino can do that.

To recap:

* I wasted 9 weeks waiting on a project I was told would be done in 3.

* I was repeatedly lied to about the progress of the project.

* I haven't been refunded.

If you value your time, please do not go to this place. Don't go here just because it's near your house in Clarendon.

I called Clarendon Art Framing in February to confirm whether they could place a mat in my 50 x 50 Pottery Barn frame. They confirmed that they could. My dad and I dropped my frame off - YES I EVEN PROVIDED MY OWN FRAME - on February 22nd. I was quoted 8 days and paid a $90 deposit (Total would be $180).

The frame was to be a gift to my Mom who is ill. Her birthday was at the end of March, so the 8 day quote was perfect. Today is May 4th and my project is not complete. My Mom passed away on April 7th.

Somewhere around 4 weeks later, I heard that my photo was ready. I came to pick it up. It was TERRIBLE. All four sides of the mat looked like a kindergartener had cut it - it had jagged edges. I truly cannot believe Geno and their staff thought it was acceptable. They said that they would re-do it. I began calling them weekly to get updates and a hold of Geno, the framer ("Geno will call you back, "Geno just went downstairs," "I left a note for him"). The store eventually told me that they were ordering a special cutter and Geno needed some time to practice cutting with it, and provided several dates that the frame would be done by ("I'll be done no later than Thursday," "I just need to practice tonight and it'll be ready tomorrow," etc). I appreciated the details, but in 25 years, I am curious if I was the first person to request a large mat.

On May 4th (the day after Geno was *once again* supposed "to call me back with an update"), I sternly called to tell the person that this is unacceptable and the person this was for had even died -- They took THAT long. Almost 2 and a half months later, I have asked to take my frame back. When I told the woman on the phone that I was going to get the frame on Saturday, I got a lackadaisical "Ok, I'll see you Saturday then."

I will be posting this review on all social media channels. Clarendon Art Framing and Geno need to learn the true impact of bad customer service and the dangerous side effects it has on business -- as well as the impact that their work has on other people's lives; I relied on this frame being ready in 8 days (or at least within a few weeks) to be gifted to someone before they passed away. I'm not sure why they continued to give me the run around and excuses. If they couldn't do this, they should have been honest from the get-go. Throughout these past 2+ months I had been extremely kind, but at this point, I am pretty frustrated.

There are similar reviews on Yelp of being given the run around, inconsistent work or work not completed.

Awesome job. We just moved to the neighborhood and had some pieces to frame for the new house. Gino helped us pick a great look that we wouldn't have thought of and had it done in less than a week so we could hang in time for a dinner party. Everyone was super friendly. Not cheap, but the best framing experience I've ever had.

The owner was there when we went in, super helpful and high energy. Got a great frame, really pleased with it. Somewhere pricey but totally worth it.

Best price and service around. Great quality. Couldn't be happier. Had over 12 items custom framed. Gino is the best bang for the buck in the local area.
