I went to City Paws today with an emergency with my dog. I will always recommend this place!
The staff is very dedicated,gentle and professional.
Dr. Lui and her assistant Scott we're awesome and very caring. We just moved from Florida and are so relieved to have found our new vet!!

We have been going to City Paws for the past four years since I adopted my cat from the DC shelter. The first three visits at City Paws U Street we worked with Dr. Power and Dr. Gagne (not longer which the practice), and had a good experience. However, on our most recent visit we decided to try City Paws Uptown for the convenience of location. Unfortunately, seeing Dr. Durney was an entirely different experience. It felt as if we were talking to a car salesman, with the vet recommending all kinds of crazy things for a perfectly healthy cat. She tried to scare us into multiple treatments and medications as "preventative", when our cat is indoor and healthy. When we questioned the necessity of the treatment, her story changed entirely and she was suddenly dismissive. Dr. Durney spent very little time actually examining my cat, and most of it trying to persuade us to spend extra money. Then the person at reception tried to include one of these medications in my final bill, without checking that I even wanted it. We will not be returning to City Paws, and suggest to others that they find a more honest veterinary practice that actually cares about the animals more than their profits!

They are very professional and carving.
They discuss the cost and how much are you prepare to spend as to treating first and than presenting you with a bill you may not be able to pay.

One of the things Ike and I miss most about Washington, DC is City Paws. Well, I miss it, not sure my cat Ike misses it so much. :-) He is quite the terror when it comes to going to the vet and City Paws has always done such a wonderful job of accommodating his "personality." Ike has seen a few different doctors at City Paws, but Dr. Bowman really stands out for us. She always demonstrated such care and concern and was really great about following up -- she is available, informative and genuine. The location is super convenient, as well.
