I've been dinning at Felipe's since I moved here in 92 from Arizona.I do know Mexican food,making it and eating it.I worked for Don Rubens for many years in az.Im very pleased with Felipe's food and service,The waitress es are very kind.Will continue to go there until I'm no longer on this Earth.Ron kelley

Never coming back changed everything about the food . Hated im still here wheres my check????? Found out they tipped them selves 20$ . Ill never eat that trash and ill tell everyone o kno .!!!!!

Went to 119th and Maple last weekend. Ordered two soft tacos, rice, and beans and a beer.
Spent the next day on the toilet and in the recliner.

Great food and service. Lunch prices not much higher than fast food and you get a more relaxed lunch with better food.

I remembered Felipes fondly from the 60s and 70s, but when I ate there today, it was a different story. I wanted a meatless dish, but the sauces all either had meat or were hot. Finally, I ordered a tostada plate, due to lack of options. It was very bland, and so were the beans that came with it. The rice was also very unremarkable. My husband let me taste his chili relleno, and I thought it tasted like Cheez Whiz. Two different waitresses made no effort to ask if the food was okay. Even after I voiced my feelings politely, there was no effort to adjust or compensate. In response to my comment that the cheese wasn't good, the waitress replied, "But we use American cheese." Bingo. It tasted like Velveeta or Cheez Whiz, all right. The food doesn't seem to have the same authenticity it had when the original Felipe founded the restaurant. I will choose other places for Mexican food from now on. Very disappointing!
