I called to check on a referral. Was told that it usually takes 4-5 business days to receive referrals and once they do, they will call to set up an appointment. Well it's been more than 4-5 business days & my primary doctor has actually sent the referral over twice (still no call). I was about to explain this to Kandi (the receptionist who answered), but I guess she isn't having a good day or simply doesn't want to work, because instead of listening & helping me, she hung up on me. Now they won't answer the phone.

I got referred to Wilmington Health Neuro on 10/31/16. Their referral department is very short staffed. I tried calling several times and never got a call back. I finally got an appointment on 12/20/16 (the soonest appointment they offered me.) The support staff was not very organized or pleasant. I waited over 30 minutes to see the doctor. They drew some lab work and put in a referral for an MRI. The check in for the lab was also pretty unorganized. It's 1/9/17 and I still haven't heard about about my labs or to schedule my MRI. Good luck to anyone looking for a neurologist in the area.

I was brought in by ambulance on Feb.7,2016 from Dosher Hospital in Southport with a brain tumor as picked up on a Cat scan, Feb.8 I had an MRI which confirmed a large tumor called a meningioma on the left side of my brain, Feb.9,2016 I was operated on by Dr. Thomas and Dr. Bagley, the tumor came out quicker than expected. These Doctors were excellent and have great reputations. Thank You both for taking care of me. My only complaint is when you call you have to go thru many channels, but I believe they are working on that. I would Highly recommend these Doctors because I still have my body in full working order, no severe after effects, and I am 64 years old. J. Terrell

It has been the worst experience Ive ever had in the medical field! They scheduled my first appointment almost 9 mths ago and continue to cancel my appointments and reschedule again and again and again. My appointment has been cancelled so many times that I have lost count...more than 6 times Im sure. They have no compassion for those in pain seeking help and diagnoses.!! Unreal that a medical facility like this can stay open....just recieved another cancelation for another appointment to see no one once again. Are you kidding me!!!!!!! I seriously do not want these people touching my body EVER! Pain and suffering obviously mean nothing to these people.............

While my overall experience with the physicians at Wilmington Health's Neurology department was favorable, the incompetence of one of the doctor's nurses (we'll call him Dr. A) and scheduling staff never ceased to amaze me. Not once was the nurse in question able to call in a prescription or subsequent refill to the correct pharmacy, despite being given not only the address, phone and fax numbers, but the store number as well.
The scheduling staff is rarely available to speak to when you call, and even when leaving a detailed message with a current phone number, they still manage to either call an old phone number or dial the number incorrectly, and when you don't hear from them and call them on it, they blame their inability to dial a phone number correctly on your phone carrier (no missed calls or voicemails from them mind you.)
I've also made an appointment with their scheduling department, confirmed the date and time with the woman on the phone after writing it down, and then told when showing up for said appointment that I had showed up on the wrong day.
It's clear that some of these people are satisfied doing the bare minimum to hang on to their jobs, or lack the gray matter to perform remedial tasks like pressing the correct numbers on a phone and following directions, and it shows.
