We're new to the city and found Bocado early on and stuck to it. We tried the citizen because we had read good reviews. It was an awful experience. We had three waitresses, so it was confusing as to how we could never get ahold of one. We started with some drinks, they were incredibly small. Filled to the brim with crushed ice and very little liquid. When I asked the waitress for my next drink to have less ice she said "well we use crush iced so that's why it looks like a lot" like I couldn't see with my own eyes that it was crushed ice, and of course, my next drink came with absolutely no ice. Then came appetizers, one was spinach artichoke dip and it tasted like clam chowder, we did not complain. Next were entrees, duck and steak. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came almost fully cooked with a little pink in the center. I cut into it to show the waitress and she said no, that's our medium rare, you wanted rare. I've been eating steak for a long time, I know what medium rare is. After she walked away I sat there looking at my steak and after a while she came back and said "that's our medium rare, but if you really want I can get you another one". So I took her up on her offer, waited another 20 minutes while the other people in my party finished their meals so they wouldn't be cold. When I got the steak back it was as rare as could be, still mooing. I tried to eat it but it was covered in a thick brown gravy that tasted fresh out of a can. It was inedible. When you pay 45$ for a steak you expect more than canned gravy dumped over boxed mashed potatoes, and for it to at least be edible. When the waitress came to clear our plates she asked if I wanted a box and I said no and she said fine. Never asked about why it wasn't eaten. Any other restaurant would have taken it off the check immediately, but she obviously didn't care. We left very disappointed.

One of my favorite spots for a night cap. Great service and makes you feel like your back in time just from the feel of the place. Great drink options and knowledgeable bartenders. Plus an awesome patio that connects the Citizen (People's Kitchen), Mike's Cigar Bar, and Still and Stir.

Great menu, great desserts and pretty good single malt list...also strong with whiskey and wine. Service was friendly, nice atmosphere.

Terrible and weird experience. We sat on the patio and were completely ignored. Reservation was for 6:30, our waiter dropped water off at the table and walked away, then another waitress came back with menus. We put in a drink and appetizer order with the first waiter that came to the table and he proceeded to take our menus off the table...umm, we actually are going to eat dinner too but okay. He left one menu for 3 people to share. A little while later he came back and we placed our food order...about 10 minutes later "there was a problem with the computer" and he came back and asked us what we ordered again. He remembered 2 out of 3 of the meals that were ordered. We assumed he remembered the 3rd since he didn't ask about the third entree...NOPE! Food comes to the table by someone else, 2 meals were correct and the third was not. He NEVER came back to the table to check on us or see how the food was. I had to go to the host stand to get someones attention that 1. The food was wrong and 2. We have no idea where our server has been all night. We now have a 3rd person waiting on us to bring the correct entree...a little while later we ask for the check and I would have thought in good faith, and after a total dinner time of 4 hours, the meal that was wrong would have been taken off the bill...NOPE! If you have 4 hours and want to order something and then be given something else and forgotten, this is the place for you!
