Receptionist is very beautiful and kind. This weekend I will go again. That was big size room and bed but other conditions were not good.

General: Front desk reception, the cafe waitstaff, and the security guards were all courteous.
Room: Reserved their non-smoking Superior Double Room for 6 nights. Your basic toiletries are provided and no foul smell noticed. The double sized bed is equivalent to a king size in western standards. The bed was firm yet comfortable. As my protocol for any hotel, I checked for bed bugs along the mattress seams, on the bed sheets, in night stand, and in the closet, but did not find any.
Overall, the room and bathroom were clean. My room was located near the front so I heard the noise from street traffic in the morning but wasn't disturbed by noise from other guests. It was rather quiet overall. There were bigger issues including finding cockroaches on the night stand, under the bed, on the floor near the sitting area, and another in the bathroom. I kept all my clothes in my luggage and kept closed until I needed something. During my initial room check, I also found many (used and unused) condom packages under the bed. I kept in mind that this is a 2 star hotel, thus rating 3 stars for my stay.
Cafe/Restaurant: Food and drinks were acceptable.
If you are looking to stay in Ward 5 & 6 District 8 area, Felix Garden Hotel is your best option and you'll likely be satisfied with your stay. It was generally between 90-100K Dong plus tip for taxi to/from Pham Ngu Lao/Ben Thanh area in District 1. Recommend sticking with Vinasun or Mai lin (sp?) Taxi companies.

Felix Hotel was a great find. Stayed two-weeks. Twenty minute taxi ride from Ho Chi Min city ground zero. This hotel was a soothing retreat away from the ruckus of the city. Good food, helpful staff, air-conditioning ahhh.
